MEET THE MOMS

BEHIND BABY FEEDING EXPERTS

KYLA

  • I hold a BS from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville and a Master of Health Science from the University of Missouri. I’m also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I have a special interest in supporting families through low supply, oversupply, flange fitting, formula ingredient guidance, and navigating a smooth transition away from triple feeding.

More than anything, I love helping parents feel confident and supported, find relief, and discover feeding solutions that actually work for their real life.

    • I’ve experienced two spontaneous labors and one planned C-section (thanks to a breech baby!)

    • I’ve breastfed all three of my babies, each with their own unique challenges that taught me so much:

      • My first: I learned the hard way about oversupply (before my IBCLC coursework taught me milk supply is not out of your control)

      • My second: refused bottles completely

      • My third: faced jaundice and required triple feeding

    • I approach feeding support with empathy, flexibility, and reassurance

    • One thing you’ll probably hear me say is: “You’re probably not going to screw it up.”

      • Translation—try not to stress; you have options, and we’ll figure out what feels right for you

SLP, IBCLC, FOUNDER

COURTNEY

  • I earned my BS and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Missouri and later became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

My clinical focus is on oral motor skills and tethered oral tissues, supporting families through bottle refusal, formula or combination feeding, and the transition home after a NICU stay.

I bring a function-focused, evidence-based approach while ensuring parents feel informed, supported, and confident in every step of their feeding journey.

    • I’ve had two C-sections: one unplanned and one scheduled.

    • My babies were fed in very different ways, which has helped me support the families I meet with more empathy and understanding:

      • My first: a traumatic birth and low/no supply led us to exclusively formula feed. We worked through overfeeding, reflux, and bottle weaning challenges.

      • My second: started in the NICU with tube feedings, then donor milk for a bit, and finally exclusively breastfed for over a year.

    • I believe strongly in the power of therapy—for birthing and non-birthing parents!

    • Outside of work, I’m a grandma soul in a millennial body: I love quilting, sipping coffee on the porch, and filling my home with family photos and crocheted doilies.

    • One thing you’ll probably hear me ask is: “How’s your brain feeling?”

      • My goal is to make sure you feel empowered and fully understand the plan to reach your feeding goals.

Kyla and Courtney both have a master's degree in speech-language pathology, along with supervised clinical experience and passing a national certification exam.

An IBCLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, an expert who helps parents and families address breastfeeding and infant feeding challenges.
